Velo-city Global 2010, the largest international conference on cycling, will be in Copenhagen this June. Around 1000 delegates from 5 continents will be discussing cycling not as an end in itself, but as a potentially vital tool in creating more sustainable and more people-friendly cities around the world. Speakers will discuss subjects such as cycling as quality of life, the co-benefits of cycling, and cycling as freedom and prosperity. There will be something for everyone interested in the prospects of cycling. Speakers include EU’s Climate Commissioner Connie Hedegaard, former mayor of Bogotá, Enrique Peñalosa, and professor in sustainable transport, John Whitelegg.
